Indications

Lamictal (lamotrigine) is indicated for the treatment of epilepsy in adults and children aged 2 years and older. It is used as an adjunctive therapy in patients with partial seizures or generalized tonic-clonic seizures. Additionally, Lamictal is effective in the treatment of bipolar disorder, helping to stabilize mood and prevent episodes of depression and mania. Its use must be supervised by a healthcare professional, who will determine the appropriate dose and duration of treatment according to the patient's needs.

Composition

Each Lamictal dispersible tablet contains 50 mg of lamotrigine as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients such as starch, mannitol, and flavorings, which facilitate its ingestion.

Contraindications

Lamictal is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to lamotrigine or to any of the product's excipients. Its use should also be avoided in patients who have experienced severe skin reactions associated with lamotrigine in previous treatments.

Precautions

Caution is required in patients with a history of skin disorders, liver or kidney diseases, as well as in those taking other medications that may interact with lamotrigine. Regular clinical monitoring is recommended to detect possible adverse effects and adjust the dose as needed.

Storage

Lamictal should be stored at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place away from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
