Indications
Inhibitron Twit 20 mg/1100 mg is indicated for the treatment of conditions related to excessive stomach acid production. It is used for the management of diseases such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, and gastric and duodenal ulcers. Additionally, it is used for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori in combination with other antibiotics, as well as for the prevention of ulcers induced by nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) in at-risk patients. Its action is based on the inhibition of the proton pump in the stomach's parietal cells, thereby reducing gastric acid production and providing symptomatic relief.
Composition
Each Inhibitron Twit capsule contains:
Omeprazole 20 mg
Sodium Bicarbonate 1100 mg
Contraindications
Inhibitron Twit is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to omeprazole, sodium bicarbonate, or any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to other proton pump inhibitors. Furthermore, it should be avoided in patients with severe kidney diseases that require special attention.
Precautions
It should be used with caution in patients with a history of liver disease, as well as in those who present symptoms of gastric malignancy. Prolonged use of omeprazole may be associated with an increased risk of gastrointestinal infections. It is important to consider the possibility of vitamin B12 deficiency in long-term treatments. Regular medical follow-up is recommended during treatment.
