Indications

Enaladil-Duo is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in adults. The combination of Enalapril, an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, and Hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic, allows for more effective blood pressure control in patients who do not achieve blood pressure targets with monotherapy. This medication can also be used in the management of congestive heart failure, contributing to the reduction of cardiac load and improving exercise tolerance.

Composition

Each tablet contains: Enalapril 20 mg and Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg.

Contraindications

Enaladil-Duo is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, in those with a history of angioedema associated with previous ACE inhibitor treatments, and in patients with bilateral renal artery stenosis or renal artery stenosis in a single functional kidney. Furthermore, it should not be administered during pregnancy and lactation, unless specifically indicated by a doctor.

Precautions

It is important to monitor kidney function before and during treatment with Enaladil-Duo, as well as blood potassium levels, as the combination of these drugs can alter electrolyte balance. Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver disease, diabetes mellitus, or those receiving other antihypertensive drugs or diuretics. Regular blood pressure evaluation is recommended during treatment.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place and protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
