Indications
Dimefor is indicated as part of a treatment plan for glucose control in adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is used when diet and exercise are not sufficient to control blood glucose levels. Specifically, it is recommended for patients who are obese, as well as those who exhibit insulin resistance. It can also be used in combination with other oral antidiabetic medications or insulin, as directed by the treating physician.
Composition
Each Dimefor tablet contains 500 mg of metformin as the active ingredient. Additionally, it contains excipients that facilitate its formulation and stability.
Contraindications
Dimefor should not be administered to patients with known hypersensitivity to metformin or any of the excipients in the formula. It is contraindicated in patients with renal insufficiency, hepatic insufficiency, conditions that may lead to lactic acidosis, or in situations of severe dehydration. It is also contraindicated in patients with acute or chronic diseases that may compromise renal function.
Precautions
It is recommended to assess renal function before initiating treatment and periodically during treatment. It is essential that patients follow medical instructions regarding diet and exercise. In the case of surgical procedures or imaging studies involving the use of iodinated contrast, temporary discontinuation of treatment should be considered.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children.
