Indications
Dimefor is indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults, especially in overweight patients, as part of a diet and exercise regimen. Its use is suitable for patients who have not achieved adequate blood glucose control with lifestyle changes. In addition, it can be used in combination with other antidiabetic medications to improve glycemic control. Metformin has also been used in the management of insulin resistance in some endocrine conditions and in the prevention of diabetes in high-risk individuals.
Composition
Each Dimefor tablet contains 1000 mg of metformin as the active ingredient.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to metformin or any of the excipients of the medication. It should not be used in cases of severe renal insufficiency, diabetic ketoacidosis, acute diseases that may alter renal function, as well as in patients with conditions that predispose to lactic acidosis.
Precautions
Special care should be taken in patients with a history of kidney, liver, or heart disease. It is important to monitor kidney function before starting treatment and during its use. Likewise, dehydration and concomitant use of medications that may affect kidney function should be avoided. Metformin can increase the risk of lactic acidosis, so the initial symptoms should be known and immediate action should be taken if they occur.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
