Indications
Daivobet Ointment is indicated for the treatment of plaque psoriasis in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age. The combination of Calcipotriol, a vitamin D3 analog, and Betamethasone, a corticosteroid, acts synergistically to decrease cell proliferation and reduce skin inflammation. This medication is effective in relieving redness, scaling, and itching associated with psoriasis, thereby improving the patient's appearance and well-being. It is recommended to apply the ointment to affected areas once a day, avoiding contact with eyes and mucous membranes, and should not be used on extensive skin areas or on the face, unless directed by a doctor. It is important to follow the healthcare professional's instructions regarding the duration of treatment.
Composition
Each 100 g of Daivobet Ointment contains: Calcipotriol 0.5 g (equivalent to 5 mg) and Betamethasone 0.5 g (equivalent to 50 mg). In addition, it contains excipients q.s. to complete 100 g.
Contraindications
Daivobet Ointment is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to the components of the formula, as well as in those with untreated skin infections. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe kidney or liver disease. It should not be applied to the face, genitals, or intertriginous areas without medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of hypocalcemia or calcium metabolism disorders. It is essential to avoid prolonged and excessive use of the product to prevent systemic adverse effects. In case of irritation, treatment should be discontinued and a doctor consulted.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C, protected from light and humidity. Keep out of reach of children.
