Indications

Weserix is indicated for the treatment of acute and chronic pain, including osteoarticular pain, such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. It is also used in the management of postoperative pain and in situations of pain associated with sports injuries. Its anti-inflammatory and analgesic action is due to its ability to selectively inhibit the cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzyme, which reduces the synthesis of prostaglandins, responsible for inflammation and pain.

Composition

Each Weserix tablet contains 120 mg of Etoricoxib as the active ingredient, as well as necessary excipients for its formulation.

Contraindications

Weserix is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to etoricoxib or any of the components of the formula. It should not be administered in cases of severe heart failure, severe kidney disease, or in patients who have experienced severe adverse reactions to other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, or in those who consume excessive alcohol. It is important to monitor kidney function in patients receiving prolonged treatment. It is recommended to evaluate cardiovascular risk before starting treatment.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C, in a dry place and away from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
