Indications

Magnesium Valproate is indicated in the treatment of various neurological and psychiatric conditions, particularly in the management of epileptic disorders, such as epilepsy and the control of seizures. It is also used in the treatment of bipolar disorders, where it acts by stabilizing mood and reducing the frequency of manic episodes. Additionally, it can be used as part of a therapeutic regimen in some cases of migraine, contributing to the prevention of attacks. It is essential that the use of this medication is carried out under strict medical supervision, with continuous monitoring of clinical response and adverse effects.

Composition

Each tablet contains 200 mg of Magnesium Valproate as the active ingredient. Excipients include: lactose monohydrate, corn starch, magnesium stearate, and silicon dioxide.

Contraindications

The use of Magnesium Valproate is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to valproate, as well as in those with active liver disease or a history of liver dysfunction. It should not be administered to pregnant women, unless the benefit outweighs the potential risks to the fetus.

Precautions

Special caution should be exercised in patients with bleeding disorders, renal insufficiency, or metabolic diseases. It is important to perform regular monitoring of liver function and valproate levels in the blood, as well as to be attentive to signs of toxicity.
