Indications
Magnesium Valproate is indicated for the treatment of various neurological disorders, including epilepsy, where it is used as an anticonvulsant for the control of partial and generalized seizures. It is also used in the treatment of bipolar disorder, helping to stabilize mood in patients with manic or mixed episodes. Its use may be indicated in situations where other treatments have not been effective or are unsuitable. Valproate has been shown to have beneficial effects in the prevention of migraines, helping to reduce the frequency and severity of episodes. It is essential that the use of this medication be supervised by a healthcare professional, who will determine the dose and duration of treatment according to the individual needs of the patient.
Composition
Each Magnesium Valproate tablet contains 200 mg of magnesium valproate as the active ingredient. In addition, it may contain excipients such as starch, talc, and other inactive components that facilitate the formulation of the medication.
Contraindications
The use of Magnesium Valproate is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to valproate or any of the excipients in the formulation. It is also contraindicated in cases of severe liver disease, pancreatitis, and in patients with metabolic disorders or other health problems that may worsen with its use. Its use during pregnancy is not recommended, unless strictly necessary and under the supervision of a physician.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Magnesium Valproate to patients with a history of liver disorders, hematological diseases, or those at high risk of developing gastrointestinal problems.
