Indications
Urezol is indicated for the symptomatic relief of pain, burning, and discomfort in the urinary tract, associated with conditions such as cystitis, urethritis, and other urinary tract disorders. It is also used as an adjunct in the treatment of urinary infections, providing immediate relief of painful symptoms. Its use is recommended in patients who present irritation or inflammation of the mucous membranes of the urinary tract, as well as in those who have undergone surgical or diagnostic procedures that may cause discomfort in this area.
Composition
Each Urezol tablet contains 100 mg of phenazopyridine as an active ingredient, as well as excipients necessary for the product's formulation.
Contraindications
Urezol is contraindicated in people who have hypersensitivity to phenazopyridine or to any of its components. It should not be administered to patients with severe renal insufficiency, as well as in those with severe liver diseases. Its use is not recommended in pregnant or breastfeeding women, unless indicated by a doctor.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver or kidney disease. It is recommended not to exceed the recommended dose and to avoid prolonged use of the medication without medical supervision. It may cause orange discoloration of the urine, which is normal and does not represent an adverse effect. However, if unusual symptoms appear, a healthcare professional should be consulted.
