Indications
Triseptil is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by microorganisms susceptible to tinidazole. This medication is effective in the treatment of genital tract infections, such as bacterial vaginosis and trichomoniasis. Additionally, it is used in the treatment of gastrointestinal infections caused by Giardia lamblia and amebiasis. Its action is based on the inhibition of DNA synthesis in pathogens, which allows for the eradication of the infection. The dosage and duration of treatment should be determined by a physician, taking into account the severity of the infection and the patient's response to treatment.
Composition
Each Triseptil tablet contains 500 mg of tinidazole as the active ingredient. Additionally, it contains excipients that facilitate the formulation of the tablet, which are safe and approved for use in medications of this type.
Contraindications
Triseptil is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to tinidazole or any component of the formula. It should not be administered in cases of central nervous system diseases, including seizure disorders. Its use should be avoided during the first trimester of pregnancy and in breastfeeding women, unless otherwise indicated by a physician.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of liver disease or hematological disorders, as tinidazole may affect liver function or blood cell formation. Care should also be taken when administering the medication to patients who consume alcohol, as it may cause adverse reactions.
