Indications
Traxacord is indicated in the treatment of various malignant neoplasms, including leukemias, lymphomas, and solid tumors. It is used in the management of autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis and severe psoriasis. Methotrexate acts as an antimetabolic agent, interfering with DNA synthesis, which limits cell proliferation. Additionally, it is used in low doses for the treatment of rheumatic diseases and certain dermatological conditions. Its use must be supervised by a physician, who will determine the dose and duration of treatment according to the patient's specific condition.
Composition
Each Traxacord ampule contains 50 mg of methotrexate in a volume of 2 ml. Excipients are: water for injection and other components necessary for the formulation.
Contraindications
Traxacord is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to methotrexate or any of the excipients. It should not be administered to patients with severe liver diseases, severe renal insufficiency, or those with active uncontrolled infections. Its use during pregnancy and lactation is contraindicated due to potential risks to the fetus and infant.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver or kidney diseases, as well as in those receiving concomitant treatments that may affect renal or hepatic function. Regular monitoring of hematological and hepatic parameters is essential during treatment. Additionally, it is recommended to avoid live virus vaccination while using methotrexate.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
