Indications
Tramadol 100 mg is indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe pain, as well as for the management of postoperative pain. It is also used in the treatment of chronic pain in cases of oncological diseases. Its mechanism of action is based on the modulation of pain transmission in the central nervous system, acting on opioid receptors and the reuptake of neurotransmitters such as serotonin and norepinephrine, which contributes to its analgesic effect.
Composition
Each Tramadol 100 mg tablet contains: Tramadol (as hydrochloride) 100 mg. Excipients: Lactose, corn starch, magnesium stearate and microcrystalline cellulose.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to tramadol or to any of the excipients in the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with acute intoxication by alcohol, hypnotics, analgesics or psychotropic drugs. Likewise, it is contraindicated in patients with uncontrolled epilepsy or a history of seizures.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of drug or alcohol abuse, as well as in those with renal or hepatic insufficiency. Concomitant use with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) is not recommended due to the increased risk of adverse reactions. The risk of respiratory depression should also be considered, especially in the elderly or in patients with previous respiratory problems.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C, in a dry place protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
