Indications

Telmisartan is indicated for the treatment of high blood pressure in adults. This medication acts as an angiotensin II receptor antagonist, which helps to relax blood vessels and, therefore, lower blood pressure. Additionally, it can be used to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events in patients with hypertension and other risk factors.

Composition

Each Telmisartan tablet contains 80 mg of telmisartan as the active ingredient. It also includes excipients such as lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, and magnesium stearate, among others.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to telmisartan or any of the formulation's excipients. It should not be used during pregnancy and lactation, nor in patients with severe liver failure or those with a history of angioedema related to previous treatments with ACE inhibitors.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of renal failure, renal artery stenosis, diabetes mellitus, or those who are undergoing treatment with diuretics. It is advisable to monitor renal function and blood potassium levels during treatment. Blood pressure should also be regularly evaluated to avoid severe hypotension.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at temperatures not exceeding 30°C. Protect from light and keep out of reach of children.

Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
  3. In case of oversized items, the corresponding fee will apply according to the parcel service.
