Indications
Taviden-Flu is indicated for the treatment of influenza in adults and children over one year of age. The medication is most effective when initiated within 48 hours of the onset of flu symptoms. Its use is recommended in patients with flu symptoms who are at high risk of complications, such as those with chronic lung diseases, heart diseases, diabetes, or those with compromised immune systems. It can also be used as prophylaxis in people who have been exposed to influenza, especially during community outbreaks.
Composition
Each Taviden-Flu capsule contains 75 mg of Oseltamivir and excipients that allow for its proper formulation and stability.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Oseltamivir or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should also be avoided in individuals with severe renal failure without adequate medical supervision. Its use is not recommended in patients who present with symptoms of severe illness or who require hospitalization, unless advised by their doctor.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when using Taviden-Flu in patients with a history of psychiatric illness, as cases of behavioral changes have been reported. It is important for patients to inform their doctor about any other medications they are taking to avoid interactions. In addition, renal function should be assessed before starting treatment, and doses should be adjusted in cases of moderate renal impairment.
Storage
Store at room temperature between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place and away from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
