Indications

Tamsulosin is indicated for the treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men. It helps relieve symptoms such as difficulty starting urination, weak urine flow, and frequent urination, particularly at night. This medication acts as a selective alpha-1 adrenergic receptor antagonist, which causes relaxation of the smooth muscle in the prostate and urethra, thus facilitating urination.

Composition

Each Tamsulosin capsule contains 0.4 mg of Tamsulosin (as hydrochloride). Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, starch, talc, and other inert excipients.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Tamsulosin or any of the components of the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of orthostatic hypotension or in those taking antihypertensive medications that may potentially interact.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with hepatic insufficiency, as Tamsulosin elimination may be affected. Likewise, monitoring is recommended for patients with a history of cardiovascular problems, as the medication may cause a decrease in blood pressure. Use in women and children is not recommended.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
