Indications
Samitrogen (azithromycin) is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections in various areas of the body. It is commonly used to treat respiratory infections such as bronchitis and pneumonia. It is also effective in treating ear, skin, and soft tissue infections, as well as sexually transmitted infections like chlamydia. Azithromycin works by inhibiting protein synthesis in bacteria, which stops their growth and reproduction. It is important to note that this medication is not effective against viral infections.
Composition
Each Samitrogen tablet contains 500 mg of azithromycin as the active ingredient, as well as excipients that allow for the proper formulation of the medication.
Contraindications
Samitrogen is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to azithromycin, to any other macrolide antibiotic, or to any of the components of the formula. Furthermore, it should not be administered to individuals with severe liver or kidney function problems without medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of cardiac arrhythmias, as azithromycin can prolong the QT interval. Likewise, careful monitoring is recommended in patients with liver or kidney problems. During treatment, attention should be paid to the appearance of adverse reactions, and it is recommended not to use the medication for infections that require a different antibiotic treatment.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place and protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
