Indications
Rosuvastatin is indicated for the treatment of primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia. Its use is recommended in patients requiring a reduction in LDL cholesterol (low-density lipoproteins) and total cholesterol levels. Furthermore, its administration is suggested in patients with a family history of premature cardiovascular disease, as well as in those at high risk of developing coronary heart disease. This medication works by inhibiting the HMG-CoA reductase enzyme, which helps to lower blood cholesterol levels and improve the patient's lipid profile.
Composition
Each tablet contains: Rosuvastatin (as rosuvastatin calcium) 20 mg, excipients q.s.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to rosuvastatin or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered in cases of active liver disease or in patients with persistent elevation of transaminases. It is also contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Precautions
This medication should be used with caution in patients with a history of muscle diseases, as well as in those who consume excessive alcohol. It is important to monitor liver function and the presence of muscle symptoms that may indicate the onset of myopathy. Likewise, care should be taken in patients who are under concomitant treatment with other medications that may increase the risk of myopathy or rhabdomyolysis.

Store in a cool, dry place, at temperatures not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
