Indications
Omeprazole is indicated for the treatment of various conditions related to hyperacidity and esophageal disorders. It is used in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), gastric and duodenal ulcers, and for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori in combination with antibiotics. It is also used to prevent ulcers associated with the use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) in patients at risk of complications. Its mechanism of action consists of inhibiting the proton pump in the parietal cells of the stomach, which results in a reduction of gastric acid production.
Composition
Each Omeprazole tablet contains 20 mg of omeprazole as an active ingredient. It also contains excipients that facilitate its formulation and absorption.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to omeprazole or to any of the excipients in the formulation. Furthermore, it should not be administered in cases of severe hepatic insufficiency without adequate medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of liver disease, as well as in those who present symptoms that may suggest severe gastrointestinal disease. Adequate evaluations should be performed before starting treatment. In addition, it is suggested to monitor patients who need long-term treatment due to possible vitamin B12 and magnesium deficiencies.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
