Indications
Mermavie (Meropenem) is indicated for the treatment of severe bacterial infections caused by susceptible microorganisms. It is effective in the treatment of complicated intra-abdominal infections, lower respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, as well as central nervous system infections such as meningitis. This medication can be used in adult and pediatric patients and is especially useful in hospital settings where infections by multidrug-resistant bacteria are present.
Composition
Each Mermavie ampoule contains 500 mg of Meropenem. Excipients include water for injection and other inert components that aid in the formulation of the medication.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Meropenem, other carbapenems, or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should also be avoided in those with a history of severe allergic reactions to beta-lactam antibiotics.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of seizures, kidney disease, or those receiving concomitant treatments that may affect kidney function. Renal function monitoring is recommended during treatment. In case of allergic reactions, discontinue use and notify a healthcare professional.
Storage
Store at temperatures between 15 and 30 °C. Keep the vial in its original packaging and out of the reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the packaging.
