Indications

Lincomycin is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by susceptible microorganisms. It is effective in the treatment of upper and lower respiratory tract infections, as well as skin and soft tissue infections, osteomyelitis, and endocarditis. Lincomycin is primarily used in patients who are allergic to penicillin or in those where beta-lactam antibiotics are ineffective. It is also indicated in the treatment of infections caused by anaerobes, including some forms of pneumonia and lung abscesses. Its use should be considered for severe and antibiotic-resistant infections.

Composition

Each ampule contains: Lincomycin (as lincomycin hydrochloride) 300 mg/ml, excipients: water for injection q.s.p. 1 ml.

Contraindications

Lincomycin is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to lincomycin or any component of the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe gastrointestinal diseases, especially pseudomembranous colitis. It should also be avoided in patients with severe renal insufficiency.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when administering lincomycin to patients with asthma, neuromuscular diseases, or a history of colitis. It is important to monitor for possible adverse reactions, especially gastrointestinal. It is recommended to evaluate renal and hepatic function before initiating treatment and during its use. In case of severe diarrhea, the possibility of antibiotic-associated colitis should be considered.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C. Protect from light and keep out of reach of children.
