Indications
Ixicrol (Paroxetine) is indicated for the treatment of major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Paroxetine acts as a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI), which helps improve mood and reduce anxiety in patients diagnosed with the aforementioned disorders. It is important that the use of this medication be supervised by a qualified physician, who will assess the appropriate dose and duration of treatment according to the individual needs of the patient.
Composition
Each Ixicrol tablet contains 20 mg of paroxetine, as well as excipients that allow for the formulation of the medication.
Contraindications
Ixicrol is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to paroxetine or any of the excipients in the formulation. It is also contraindicated in individuals who are taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or who have discontinued their use within the last two weeks, due to the risk of developing serotonin syndrome.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Ixicrol to patients with a history of seizures, manic disorders, or liver and kidney problems. Additionally, careful monitoring is recommended due to the risk of suicidal ideation in young patients. It is essential to follow the doctor's instructions and not discontinue treatment abruptly.
