Indications

Internol 50 mg is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension and in the management of stable angina pectoris. This medicine acts as a selective beta-adrenergic receptor blocker, which helps reduce heart rate and the heart's contractile force. Furthermore, it is used in the treatment and prevention of cardiovascular events in patients with a history of myocardial infarction and in the control of certain cardiac arrhythmias. The use of Atenolol can be part of a comprehensive approach that includes lifestyle changes, such as diet and exercise.

Composition

Each Internol tablet contains 50 mg of Atenolol as the active ingredient, as well as excipients necessary for the product's formulation.

Contraindications

Internol is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Atenolol or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be used in patients with severe bradycardia, second or third-degree atrioventricular block, decompensated heart failure, or cardiogenic shock. Likewise, caution should be exercised in patients with asthma or chronic obstructive airway diseases.

Precautions

It is recommended to use Internol with caution in patients with diabetes mellitus, as it can mask the symptoms of hypoglycemia. Caution should also be exercised in patients with peripheral vascular disease and in those with a history of depression. Blood pressure and heart rate should be monitored in patients starting treatment with this medication.
