Indications

Infalet is indicated for the treatment and prevention of vitamin C deficiencies, such as scurvy. It is also used in cases of increased requirements for this vitamin, such as in situations of physical or emotional stress, infectious diseases, and in patients with intestinal malabsorption. Additionally, it can be useful in the treatment of iron deficiency anemia, as ascorbic acid improves iron absorption in the body. Furthermore, it has been used as an adjunct in the treatment of certain viral infections and as part of therapy for respiratory diseases. It is important to note that its use should be supervised by a physician, who will assess the need for its application in each particular case.

Composition

Each Infalet ampoule contains: Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) 1 g.

Contraindications

Infalet is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to ascorbic acid or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should also be avoided in patients with a history of oxalate kidney stones, as ascorbic acid can increase oxalate excretion in the urine. Its use in conditions of iron overload or hemochromatosis is not recommended.

Precautions

It is advisable to use Infalet with caution in patients with kidney disease, diabetes mellitus, and those who are undergoing anticoagulant treatment, as high doses of ascorbic acid can interfere with coagulation. The possibility of adverse reactions should be considered in patients with G6PD deficiency. Furthermore, its use should be evaluated in pregnant or breastfeeding women.

  1. Free home delivery by local branches on orders over $1000. Otherwise, a $50 fee will be added in the cities of Querétaro and La Paz, BCS, and $150 in San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, BCS.
