Indications
Indansen is indicated for the prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting, which can be caused by chemotherapy and radiotherapy in cancer patients. It is also used in the management of postoperative nausea and vomiting. Its action is based on the antagonism of 5-HT3 serotonin receptors, which helps reduce the activity of the central nervous system in relation to these symptoms. It is important that the use of this medication is carried out under medical supervision and according to the specific instructions of your treating physician.
Composition
Each Indansen ampoule contains Ondansetron as the active ingredient, in a concentration of 8 mg/4 ml. In addition, it contains excipients necessary for its formulation.
Contraindications
Indansen should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to Ondansetron or to any of the excipients in the formula. It is also contraindicated in cases of intestinal obstruction and in patients who are using certain medications that may interact adversely with Ondansetron.
Precautions
Caution is recommended when administering Indansen to patients with a history of heart disorders, as it may prolong the QT interval. Likewise, liver function should be evaluated in patients with liver failure and the dose adjusted as necessary. Use in pregnant and breastfeeding women should be evaluated by the physician.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.
