Indications

Gabapentin 300 mg is used in the treatment of various medical conditions related to the central nervous system. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of epilepsy, as adjunctive therapy in adults and children over 12 years of age suffering from partial seizures, as well as for the management of neuropathic pain associated with diabetic neuropathy and postherpetic neuralgia. Additionally, gabapentin may be used in the management of chronic pain and anxiety disorders, although its use in these indications should be evaluated by a healthcare professional.

Composition

Each capsule contains 300 mg of gabapentin as the active ingredient, in addition to inert excipients that facilitate product formulation.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to gabapentin or any other component of the formulation. It should not be administered during pregnancy and lactation unless strictly necessary and under medical supervision. Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of psychiatric disorders or who are being treated with other medications that affect the central nervous system.

Precautions

Regular medical follow-up is recommended for patients initiating gabapentin treatment, especially those with kidney disease or taking other interacting medications. Abrupt discontinuation of treatment may increase the risk of seizures. Special care should be taken in elderly patients and those with pre-existing medical conditions.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct light and out of the reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
