Indications

Fuoavil is indicated in the treatment of malignant neoplasms, specifically in colorectal cancer, breast cancer, gastric cancer, and pancreatic cancer. This medication acts as a chemotherapeutic agent that interferes with DNA synthesis, resulting in the inhibition of tumor cell growth. Fluorouracil is commonly used in combined treatment regimens, in which other chemotherapeutic agents may be employed to increase treatment efficacy. Additionally, Fuoavil can be used in the treatment of early skin lesions, such as actinic keratosis and certain types of basal cell carcinoma. The administration of this medication must be carried out under strict medical supervision, due to its potential toxicity and side effects.

Composition

Each ampule of Fuoavil contains 250 mg of Fluorouracil in a volume of 10 ml.

Contraindications

Fuoavil is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to fluorouracil or any of the product's excipients. It should not be administered to patients with severe hepatic insufficiency, as well as those with a history of severe toxicity to other antineoplastic agents. It is also contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation, unless strictly necessary and under medical supervision.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with renal or hepatic insufficiency, as well as in those with dehydration or malnutrition. Regular monitoring of hematological function is essential, as fluorouracil can cause hematological toxicity. Furthermore, interactions with other medications should be considered, and it is recommended to avoid the simultaneous administration of live vaccines.

Storage

Fuoavil should be stored at room temperature, in a dry place and protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.

Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
