Indications

Procaine Benzylpenicillin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms. It is commonly used in the treatment of respiratory tract infections, such as pharyngitis, tonsillitis, and pneumonia. In addition, it is effective in skin and soft tissue infections, as well as in genitourinary system infections. This medication is also used in the treatment of syphilis and other streptococcal and staphylococcal infections. The combination of Procaine Benzylpenicillin with Crystalline Benzylpenicillin allows for prolonged action and more effective management of severe infections. It is important that the use of this medication be under strict medical supervision to ensure its effectiveness and safety.

Composition

Each 1 vial contains: Procaine Benzylpenicillin 800,000 Units and Crystalline Benzylpenicillin in sufficient quantity to complete the formulation.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to penicillin or any of the components of the formula. It should also be avoided in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to other beta-lactam antibiotics.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of asthma, allergies, or gastrointestinal diseases. It is important to monitor the patient during treatment to detect possible adverse reactions. It is recommended to evaluate kidney function before starting treatment, as the excretion of Benzylpenicillin may be affected in patients with renal insufficiency.
