Indications

Procaine Benzylpenicillin and Crystalline Benzylpenicillin are indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by penicillin-sensitive microorganisms. These include:

  • Respiratory tract infections, such as pharyngitis and pneumonia.
  • Skin and soft tissue infections.
  • Urinary tract infections.
  • Gonococcal infections.
  • Prophylaxis of rheumatic fever and bacterial endocarditis.

Benzylpenicillin is effective against various strains of Streptococcus, Staphylococcus, and other gram-positive bacilli. Its use should be evaluated and supervised by a medical specialist.

Composition

Each ampoule contains:

  • Procaine Benzylpenicillin: 400,000 Units
  • Crystalline Benzylpenicillin: quantity sufficient to achieve desired efficacy.

Contraindications

Benzylpenicillin is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to penicillins or to any of the components of the formula. It should also be avoided in patients with severe kidney disease, unless otherwise indicated by a healthcare professional.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of allergies, asthma, or those who have experienced allergic reactions to other antibiotics. It is important to perform sensitivity tests before starting treatment. Renal function and electrolytes should be monitored during prolonged treatment.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at room temperature. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.

  1. Free home delivery by local branches on orders over $1000. Otherwise, a $50 fee will be added in the cities of Querétaro and La Paz, BCS, and $150 in San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, BCS.
  2. FREE national shipping via ground on orders over $1,500.00. Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
  3. In case of oversized items, the corresponding fee will apply according to the parcel service.
