Indications
Atfren (aripiprazole) is indicated for the treatment of psychotic disorders, including schizophrenia in adults and adolescents. It is also used in the treatment of bipolar disorder as a mood stabilizer. Additionally, it can be used as part of a combination treatment for major depression in patients who have not responded adequately to other antidepressants. This medication works by modulating the activity of certain neurotransmitters in the brain, which helps to improve the symptoms of these conditions.
Composition
Each Atfren tablet contains 30 mg of aripiprazole as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients necessary for the tablet's formulation.
Contraindications
Atfren is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to aripiprazole or any of the excipients in the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of tardive dyskinesia or those being treated with CYP3A4 or CYP2D6 inhibitors, unless an appropriate dose adjustment is made.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Atfren to patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, seizures, or those who exhibit symptoms of depression or suicide. It is important to monitor patients for any changes in behavior or mood during treatment. Its use during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended unless the benefits outweigh the potential risks.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place protected from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
