Indications
Antivon (Ondansetron) is indicated for the prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy or radiotherapy in oncology patients. It is also used in the management of postoperative nausea and vomiting in adult and pediatric patients. Ondansetron can be administered to adults and children over one month of age who require effective management of these symptoms, thereby improving their quality of life during oncology treatment or after surgical procedures.
Composition
Each 4 ml of injectable solution contains 8 mg of Ondansetron. Excipients: sodium chloride, hydrochloric acid, water for injection.
Contraindications
Antivon is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Ondansetron or any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of anaphylactic reactions to similar drugs.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Ondansetron to patients with a history of QT interval prolongation, as well as those with severe dehydration. Adequate monitoring is recommended in patients with electrolyte disturbances, as these may increase the risk of adverse effects. In addition, the possibility of drug interactions with other medications the patient is using should be considered.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Protect from light and keep out of reach of children.
