Indications
Ampigrin Infantil is indicated for the treatment of various bacterial infections in pediatric patients. This antibiotic is effective in the treatment of respiratory tract infections, middle ear infections (otitis media), urinary tract infections, and some gastrointestinal infections. It is also used in the treatment of bacterial meningitis and septicemia caused by ampicillin-susceptible organisms. The choice of Ampigrin should be based on the sensitivity of the microorganism causing the infection, as well as the patient's clinical considerations.
Composition
Each ampule of Ampigrin Infantil contains:
- Ampicillin (as ampicillin sodium) 250 mg
- Excipients: sodium chloride, water for injection, among others.
Contraindications
This medicine is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to ampicillin, other beta-lactam antibiotics, or any of the formula's components. It should not be administered to patients with viral infections, such as the flu or common cold, as they are not susceptible to antibiotic treatment.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of allergies, asthma, or gastrointestinal diseases. During treatment, renal and hepatic function, as well as the appearance of adverse reactions, should be monitored. It is important to inform the doctor about all medications the patient is taking to avoid interactions.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
