Indications
Turazive (Febuxostat) is indicated for the treatment of gout in adults, especially in patients with a history of acute gout attacks. This medication works by lowering uric acid levels in the blood, which helps prevent the formation of urate crystals in the joints and, therefore, reduces the frequency and severity of gout attacks. Furthermore, it can be used in patients with secondary hyperuricemia associated with diseases such as leukemia or myeloproliferative diseases. Regular monitoring of blood uric acid levels is recommended during treatment to ensure its effectiveness and safety.
Composition
Each Turazive tablet contains 80 mg of Febuxostat as the active ingredient, in addition to excipients such as lactose, starch, and other inactive components that facilitate the formulation of the medicine.
Contraindications
Turazive is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Febuxostat or any of the excipients in the formula. It is also contraindicated in patients with severe liver disease and in those who are receiving therapy with azathioprine or mercaptopurine, due to the risk of increased toxicity.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of kidney failure, cardiovascular disease, or in those who are taking medications that may interact with Febuxostat. In addition, it is advisable to initiate therapy with a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug to prevent acute gout attacks when starting treatment with Febuxostat.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
