Indications
Tums Mast 750 mg is indicated for the symptomatic relief of heartburn, acid indigestion, and gastritis. Its action is based on the neutralization of excess stomach acid, providing rapid relief in cases of occasional digestive discomfort. It is frequently used in situations where there is burning in the stomach or acid regurgitation, which can be caused by the ingestion of fatty, spicy, or irritating foods. It may also be useful in patients suffering from gastric ulcers or gastroesophageal reflux esophagitis, as a complement to the medical treatment of these conditions.
Composition
Each Tums Mast tablet contains 750 mg of calcium carbonate as the active ingredient. In addition, it may contain excipients such as corn starch, flavorings, and colorants, which facilitate ingestion and improve product acceptance.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to calcium carbonate or any of the components of the formula. It should also be avoided in individuals with severe kidney disease or conditions that cause hypercalcemia, as well as in those who are undergoing treatment with certain diuretics that may increase calcium levels.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients suffering from cardiovascular diseases or who are being treated with medications that affect calcium metabolism. It is important not to exceed the recommended dose and to consult a doctor if symptoms persist or worsen. In addition, it is suggested to evaluate the use of the medication in pregnant or breastfeeding women.
