Tukol-D Honey Children's Syrup is a medication indicated for the treatment of cough and the relief of symptoms associated with respiratory conditions. It contains guaifenesin, an expectorant that helps loosen and expel bronchial secretions, thus facilitating breathing. Additionally, it includes dextromethorphan, an antitussive that acts on the central nervous system to suppress the cough reflex. This product is specially formulated for children, helping to improve their well-being during episodes of dry or productive cough. It is important to follow the doctor's instructions regarding dosage and duration of treatment.

Composition

Each 10 ml of syrup contains: 1 g of guaifenesin and 0.1 g of dextromethorphan. Excipients: purified water, potassium sorbate, flavoring, and honey.

Contraindications

Tukol-D is not recommended for use in patients who are hypersensitive to any of the components of the formula. Likewise, it is contraindicated in patients with severe respiratory diseases, such as bronchial asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and in those who are being treated with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of respiratory diseases, especially those with conditions that may predispose to secretion retention. Its use in children under 2 years of age is also recommended to be avoided, unless medically indicated. It is essential to follow the doctor's instructions and not exceed the recommended dose.
