Indications
Tukol-D is indicated for the relief of productive and non-productive cough, combining the expectorant properties of guaifenesin and the antitussive effect of dextromethorphan. Guaifenesin works by facilitating the expulsion of bronchial secretions, which improves breathing in cases of congestion. On the other hand, dextromethorphan suppresses the cough reflex, providing a calming effect in situations of irritating cough. This medication is useful in conditions such as colds, bronchitis, and other respiratory infections where coughing can be a bothersome and persistent symptom.
Composition
Each 5 mL of syrup contains: 2 g of guaifenesin and 0.2 g of dextromethorphan.
Contraindications
Tukol-D is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the product's components. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe chronic respiratory diseases or those who are being treated with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) due to the possibility of interactions and adverse effects.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering this medication to patients with asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), or a history of substance abuse, as dextromethorphan may have abuse potential. Use in children under 2 years of age is not recommended without medical supervision. It is important to consult a doctor if symptoms persist or worsen after a few days of treatment.

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
