Indications

Troferit is indicated for the treatment of dry cough, as it acts as a central antitussive. It is used in cases of irritative cough not accompanied by secretions, providing relief to patients suffering from this symptom. This medication can be useful in respiratory illnesses where cough is a predominant symptom, such as pharyngitis, laryngitis, or chronic bronchitis, as well as in allergic conditions that cause coughing.

Composition

Each Troferit tablet contains 30 mg of dropropizine as the active ingredient.

Contraindications

Troferit is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to dropropizine or any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients suffering from chronic respiratory diseases with sputum production, or in those with severe respiratory insufficiency.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of epilepsy, as the use of antitussives can in some cases worsen the condition. Likewise, it is recommended to evaluate the need to use this medication in pregnant and breastfeeding women, as the effects on the fetus or infant have not been clearly established. In case of persistent cough or worsening symptoms, a doctor should be consulted.

Storage

Troferit should be stored in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children and do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
