Indications
Trileptal is indicated for the treatment of partial epilepsy, in both adults and children aged two years and older. It is used as adjunctive therapy in patients who do not achieve adequate control with other antiepileptics and can be administered as monotherapy in newly diagnosed patients. In addition, it has been shown to be effective in reducing tonic, clonic, and mixed seizures, contributing to improving the quality of life of epileptic patients.
Composition
Each Trileptal tablet contains 600 mg of oxcarbazepine as the active ingredient, as well as excipients necessary for the formulation of the medication.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to oxcarbazepine or any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use should also be avoided in patients with a history of severe adverse reactions to other antiepileptics. Its use is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation, unless strictly necessary and under medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of kidney disorders, as the elimination of oxcarbazepine may be affected. In addition, liver function monitoring is recommended in patients with pre-existing liver disease. It is important to inform the doctor about the use of other medications, as interactions may alter the efficacy of Trileptal.

Keep the medication in its original packaging, at room temperature, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
