Indications
Trileptal (oxcarbazepine) is indicated for the treatment of partial epilepsy in adults and children 2 years of age and older. It is effective in reducing the frequency of epileptic seizures, as well as in controlling episodes that do not respond adequately to other treatments. Furthermore, it can be used as adjunctive therapy in patients with generalized epileptic seizures. Trileptal has been shown to improve patients' quality of life by reducing the severity and frequency of seizures, allowing for better disease control.
Composition
Each Trileptal tablet contains 300 mg of oxcarbazepine as the active ingredient, as well as excipients that enable the formulation of the medication. It is important to check the leaflet for a complete list of non-active components.
Contraindications
Trileptal is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to oxcarbazepine or any component of the formulation. Caution should also be exercised in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to antiepileptic drugs.
Precautions
It is recommended to evaluate renal function before initiating treatment with Trileptal, as the dose may require adjustment in patients with renal dysfunction. In addition, caution should be exercised when used in patients with a history of mood disorders or depression, due to the risk of adverse effects on emotional state. Regular medical monitoring is important during treatment.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
