Indications
Trelegy is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) who require maintenance bronchodilator treatment. This medication is also used in the management of asthma in patients who are not adequately controlled with an inhaled corticosteroid alone, or who require an inhaled corticosteroid and a long-acting bronchodilator. Trelegy works by combining three components: Fluticasone, a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation; Umeclidinium, a muscarinic antagonist that helps to dilate the airways; and Vilanterol, a long-acting beta-2 agonist that also contributes to bronchodilation. The combined use of these three drugs provides more effective control of respiratory symptoms and improves patients' quality of life.
Composition
Each dose of Trelegy contains: Fluticasone propionate 100 mcg, Umeclidinium 62.5 mcg, Vilanterol 25 mcg.
Contraindications
Trelegy is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. It should not be used in patients with severe or inadequately controlled asthma and in those with acute episodes of bronchospasm.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with heart disease, hypertension, and diabetes. Regular medical follow-up is important to monitor treatment response and adjust therapy as needed.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
