Indications
Trazimera (Trastuzumab) is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with metastatic breast cancer who overexpress human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2), as part of a combined treatment regimen. It is also used in the adjuvant treatment of early-stage breast cancer in HER2-positive patients, as well as in the treatment of advanced gastric or gastroesophageal cancer in patients whose tumors overexpress HER2. The efficacy of the treatment has been demonstrated in clinical studies, showing improvement in survival and tumor response compared to standard therapy.
Composition
Each vial of Trazimera contains 440 mg of Trastuzumab as the active ingredient. Excipients include sodium chloride, acetic acid, sodium acetate, water for injection, among others.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to trastuzumab or any of the excipients in the formulation. Caution should also be exercised in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions.
Precautions
Cardiac function monitoring is recommended in patients treated with Trazimera, as it may cause cardiac dysfunction and cases of heart failure have been reported. The possibility of infusion reactions, which can range from mild to severe, should also be evaluated. In case of symptoms such as fever, chills, or shortness of breath, the infusion should be stopped and a doctor should be consulted.
Storage
Store refrigerated between 2 °C and 8 °C. Do not freeze. Keep the vial in its original packaging to protect it from light. This medicine must be kept out of the reach of children.
