Indications
Trazidex Ofteno is indicated for the treatment of various inflammatory conditions of the eye, as well as for the prevention and treatment of bacterial eye infections. It is especially useful in cases of conjunctivitis, blepharitis, and keratitis, where a combined anti-inflammatory and antibacterial action is required. Tobramycin, an aminoglycoside antibiotic, acts on a broad spectrum of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, while dexamethasone, a corticosteroid, helps reduce inflammation and edema in ocular tissues. This medication is particularly indicated for patients experiencing symptoms such as redness, itching, and ocular discharge.
Composition
Each milliliter of Trazidex Ofteno contains 3 mg of tobramycin and 1 mg of dexamethasone.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to tobramycin, dexamethasone, or any of the excipients it contains. It should not be used in viral, fungal, or tuberculous eye infections, or in patients with ocular herpes simplex. It is also contraindicated in cases of uncontrolled glaucoma.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when using Trazidex Ofteno in patients with a history of glaucoma, as corticosteroids can increase intraocular pressure. Medical monitoring is recommended for patients who wear contact lenses, as well as for those with recurrent eye infections. Prolonged use may increase the risk of developing secondary infections.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
