Indications
Trayenta Duo is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, as an adjunct to diet and exercise, to improve glycemic control. This medication is especially useful in patients who have not achieved adequate blood glucose control with metformin alone or in combination with other oral antidiabetics. The combination of linagliptin and metformin allows for a reduction in blood glucose levels through different mechanisms of action, thus promoting the decrease of glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c). It is important that its use is carried out under a comprehensive treatment regimen that includes modifications in eating habits and increased physical activity.
Composition
Each Trayenta Duo tablet contains 2.5 mg of linagliptin and 500 mg of metformin.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, in those with severe renal insufficiency (Glomerular Filtration Rate < 30 mL/min), as well as in patients with lactic acidosis. Its use is not recommended in patients with acute diseases that may affect renal function.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with renal or hepatic insufficiency, or in those who are being treated with other medications that may affect glucose levels. Constant monitoring of renal function and dose adjustment if necessary is important. Likewise, it is recommended to assess the risk of lactic acidosis, especially in patients with conditions that may predispose to its occurrence.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
