Indications
Topron 400 mg is indicated for the treatment of acute and chronic diarrhea of infectious origin, especially those caused by bacteria and some protozoa. It is effective in reducing symptoms associated with diarrhea, such as dehydration, and helps restore intestinal flora. Topron is recommended for cases of gastroenteritis and infectious colitis, as well as in patients with antibiotic-induced diarrhea. Nifuroxazide acts locally in the intestine without being systematically absorbed, which minimizes side effects.
Composition
Each Topron capsule contains 400 mg of nifuroxazide as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients that allow for the proper formulation of the medication.
Contraindications
Topron should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to nifuroxazide or any of the excipients in the formulation. It is also contraindicated in cases of bloody diarrhea, high fever, or symptoms of appendicitis, as well as in patients with severe liver disease or severe renal insufficiency.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of gastrointestinal diseases. It is important not to administer the medication for prolonged periods without medical supervision, as this could mask the diagnosis of more serious illnesses. It is recommended to consult a doctor if diarrhea persists for more than 48 hours, if symptoms of dehydration occur, or if there is blood in the stools.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at room temperature. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
