Indications
Tienam is indicated for the treatment of severe bacterial infections, including complicated intra-abdominal infections, lower respiratory tract infections, complicated urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and septicemia. This medication is used in hospitalized patients requiring potent, broad-spectrum antimicrobial treatment, as it combines the action of imipenem, a carbapenem antibiotic, and cilastatin, which prevents the degradation of imipenem in the kidneys. Its use is recommended in patients with infections caused by susceptible bacteria, as well as in those who have shown resistance to other antibiotics.
Composition
Each vial contains: 500 mg of imipenem (as imipenem cilastatin) and 500 mg of cilastatin.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to imipenem, cilastatin, or any other component of the product. It should not be administered in cases of severe renal insufficiency without adequate medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of seizures, as well as those with kidney or liver disease. It is important to monitor renal function during treatment, as prolonged use can lead to adverse effects. Administration in pregnant and breastfeeding women should be carried out under strict medical supervision.

Store at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
