Indications
Tiamidexal is indicated for the treatment of vitamin B12 and B1 deficiencies, as well as in situations where an additional supply of these vitamins is required, especially in patients with conditions affecting nutrient absorption, such as gastrointestinal diseases. It is also used in the management of inflammatory states where a corticosteroid, such as dexamethasone, is required to reduce inflammation and improve the immune system's response. It is important to consider the use of Tiamidexal in patients with neuropathies, where cyanocobalamin can help improve nerve function and reduce symptoms associated with these conditions.
Composition
Each ampoule contains:
- Cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12) 5 mg
- Thiamine (Vitamin B1) 100 mg
- Dexamethasone 4 mg
- Vehicle 1 ml
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formulation. It should not be administered in severe systemic infections, active tuberculosis, or in cases of uncontrolled peptic ulcers. Its use should be carefully evaluated in patients with a history of cardiovascular problems or diabetes mellitus.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when used in patients with renal or hepatic insufficiency. It is important to monitor patients receiving prolonged corticosteroid treatments due to the risks of adverse effects such as adrenal suppression. Additionally, it is suggested to evaluate the need for additional vitamin supplements in patients with restricted diets.
