Indications
Teolong is indicated for the treatment of obstructive respiratory diseases, such as bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Theophylline, its active ingredient, acts as a bronchodilator, helping to relax the muscles of the airways and facilitating breathing. This medication is useful in the management of symptoms such as dyspnea and wheezing, improving lung function in patients suffering from these conditions. Additionally, it may be considered in situations of asthmatic crisis, although it is not a first-line treatment in this context.
Composition
Each Teolong tablet contains 100 mg of theophylline as an active ingredient, in addition to excipients necessary for the formulation of the medication.
Contraindications
Teolong is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to theophylline or to any of the excipients of the product. It should not be used in cases of severe heart disease, arrhythmias, or in situations of severe liver failure. Its use should be avoided in patients with active peptic ulcer and in those who present uncontrolled seizures.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Teolong to patients with a history of cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, or seizure disorders. It is recommended to monitor plasma theophylline levels, especially in elderly patients, those taking other medications that interact with theophylline, or in situations of dehydration. In addition, the use of this medication should be carefully evaluated in pregnant or breastfeeding women.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. Keep the product in a dry place and away from direct light. Keep out of the reach of children.
