Indications

Tenoretic is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension, as well as in the management of heart failure. It can also be used in the prevention of anginal episodes in patients with stable angina pectoris. Atenolol, a beta-blocker, works by reducing heart rate and blood pressure, while chlorthalidone, a diuretic, helps to decrease fluid retention and control blood pressure, providing a synergistic effect for better hypertension control.

Composition

Each Tenoretic tablet contains 100 mg of Atenolol and 25 mg of Chlorthalidone as active ingredients. It also includes excipients such as corn starch, talc, and others.

Contraindications

Tenoretic is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the components of the formula, as well as in those with severe bradycardia, second or third-degree heart block, decompensated heart failure, and in patients with uncontrolled chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases. It should also be avoided in patients with a history of severe anaphylactic reactions.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when administering Tenoretic to patients with diabetes mellitus, as it may mask the symptoms of hypoglycemia. Renal function should be monitored in patients with a history of kidney disease. Likewise, its use should be considered in patients with a history of depression, peripheral vascular disease, and during pregnancy and lactation, evaluating the risks and benefits.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C, in a dry place protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
