Indications
Tegretol is indicated for the treatment of convulsive disorders such as epilepsy, including partial and generalized seizures. It is also used in the management of neuralgias, particularly trigeminal neuralgia, and in the treatment of bipolar affective disorder. Carbamazepine works by stabilizing hyperexcitable neuronal membranes, modulating neurotransmitter release, and reducing neuronal excitability.
Composition
Each Tegretol tablet contains 200 mg of carbamazepine as the active ingredient. Excipients include starch, lactose, talc, and others that facilitate product formulation and stability.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to carbamazepine or any of the product's excipients. It should not be administered in cases of atrioventricular block, history of aplastic anemia or agranulocytosis related to carbamazepine use, and during pregnancy, except in exceptional circumstances and under strict medical supervision.
Precautions
It is recommended to monitor liver and hematological function before and during treatment with Tegretol, as well as to be alert for the appearance of severe skin reactions. Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of hematological disorders, liver or kidney disease. It is important to avoid alcohol consumption during treatment with this medication, as it may increase the risk of adverse effects.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
