Indications

Taxus is indicated for the treatment of early and advanced breast cancer, as well as in patients with ductal carcinoma in situ. It is primarily used in adjuvant and neoadjuvant treatment, as well as in cases of metastatic disease. Tamoxifen acts as a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM), blocking the action of estrogens in breast tissue, which results in reduced cell proliferation and inhibition of tumor growth. In addition, it has been used in the prevention of breast cancer in high-risk women.

Composition

Each Taxus tablet contains 20 mg of tamoxifen and excipients necessary for its formulation.

Contraindications

Taxus is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to tamoxifen or any of the components of the formula. Its use is not recommended in pregnant or breastfeeding women, due to possible adverse effects on the fetus or infant. It is also contraindicated in patients with a history of venous or arterial thromboembolism.

Precautions

Precautions should be taken in patients with a history of thromboembolic disease and in those with liver problems. Regular monitoring of liver function and bone density is important, as prolonged use of tamoxifen may increase the risk of osteoporosis and fractures. In addition, vigilance is recommended in patients with a history of endometrial cancer.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at temperatures not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
